Christian Marien Quartet presents music from its latest album Beyond the Fingertips. The recording was captured directly to disc, without edits or post-production, engraved into lacquer in a single, unrepeatable take. Entirely in the present moment. The quartet’s live performances follow the same philosophy. Full of risk-taking and playful wit, the musicians create a space where everything becomes part of the magic – including mistakes and imperfections.

The music unfolds within a field of tension between structure and freedom, abstraction and swing, chaos and stillness. For this quartet, Christian Marien has brought together three of Europe’s most sought-after improvisers and jazz musicians: Antonio Borghini, Jasper Stadhouders and Tobias Delius.

The result is music that cannot be fully grasped – existing only in the moment, extraordinary and elusive.
