Smuk Zvuk is a Danish-Czech duo formed by vibraphonist Viktorie Søndergaard and double bassist Klára Pudláková. The two musicians met while studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris during the Covid lockdowns. Although this difficult period prevented them from fully exploring the city’s vibrant music scene, it created an intimate environment in which a unique musical partnership could develop.

Together, they spent countless hours playing jazz standards, sharing original compositions and improvising. During this time, the foundations of their distinctive sound began to take shape. The combination of vibraphone and double bass presents both creative opportunities and compositional challenges, demanding a deep level of communication and musical trust between the performers.

The friendship and artistic connection established in Paris continued long after they returned to their respective countries. Both musicians remain active on the Danish and Czech jazz scenes and regularly collaborate in a variety of projects. Viktorie performs with ensembles such as Baryl and Viktoria's Music of Secrets, while Klára leads projects including Uthando, Pudlax, Maomah and Toša.

In 2024, both artists were accepted into a master’s Erasmus programme at the Academy of Music in Oslo. The long and dark Norwegian winter days provided the perfect setting to reconnect with an intensive creative process, ultimately inspiring the creation and recording of their debut album, Call Me a Princess.
