The project Planet Connection, which premiered in the year 2008, is constructed as a meeting of visitors with the modern and traditional culture of the chosen country. The main evening is the appearance of a foreign artist, which is complimented by interesting documentary photos, a slideshow, chats with professional travelers, photography exhibits, folklore dance and showings of other components of the destination- tastings of national foods and drinks, etc. Through the medium of artistic groups- above all musical, although also theater and dance, we inspire interest among visitors in the given country. The last round of this project attempts to demolish various myths about the individual countries on our planet. The first part of Planet Connection was devoted to Ukraine, the next we direct at Lithuania, country of amber, lakes and wooden sculptures. Despite the fact that Lithuania has been a member of the EU since 2004, it to date belongs, with its Baltic neighbors, Latvia and Estonia, among the countries about which we know too little about. This country deserves our attention from a historical standpoint, and even more so as its capital city Vilnius was voted “City of Culture 2009.”
