info

We have met few years ago on the international fine-art symposium. During the symposium we worked next to each other and during talking about art and other themes including the “common life”, we found out that we have similar views on many things.

The similarity of the opinions mainly in art and design meant that we continued in the dialogues even after the end of the symposium. Emails we wrote were some kind of table tennis – sometimes information about an interesting exhibition, sometimes an article or an interesting photo; surely nothing extraordinary these days.

During the time we have also met face to face. Even though the meetings were always too short and not too frequent, the dialogue always led to the possibility of a (co)operation on a mutual project. However, we have never reached any solution because both of us were very busy.

Not until after some time when “IT” was revealed, we noticed that almost in every email there is a photo as an illustration of the text or just like that. And so we found (somehow incidentally) our project – UV filt(e)r.

Why UV Filt(e)r? It is very simple, U is the first letter of the name Ute and V of the name Vladimír and filtr/filt(e)r is the synonym for our eyes / looks through which we filter those views of our surroundings that are so interesting to be noticed and sent in the north-west or south-east direction. UV filtr is also a combination of the photography world –even though neither of us is a photographer and have no ambition to become one.

This picture ping-pong has become our daily ritual, one picture as a greeting in the common daily programme.

The picture ping-pong sometimes really function as a ping-pong and the answer comes; sometimes the pictures are independent and sometimes they come/are sent at the same time (very rarely  )

Although our UV filtr had no big ambitions to be presented publicly at first, you can see here a cut-out which is not arranged thematically or chronologically but there is always a couple of photos from one day.

We believe to enjoy this “ping-pong” in the future and search for what? Why? Where? When?

We do not see our activity as an “art photography” but more as questions and answers, notices, jokes…
