Tamino

Tamino is Belgium’s up and coming talent number one. He was one of the three winners of the most recent edition of De Nieuwe Lichting, a major music contest organised by national radio Studio Brussel.

Belgisch-Egyptische songschrijver was een van de muzikale sensaties van 2017’ headlined De Morgen just recently. And that’s no lie. With only two EPs on his CV, Tamino sold out every venue (AB, De Roma and Vooruit) he played and to top it all off he charmed Rock Werchter with ease. His singles have been played like crazy on all radio stations in 2017/18. Not only are foreign countries making eyes at him – The Independent wrote the following of his vist to Eurosonic: ‘Tamino has the most extraordinary voice we've heard in a long, long time’

JFDR

The latest project from Iceland's Jófríður Ákadóttir (Samaris, Pascal Pinon, Gangly), is a blend of cyclical guitar parts, soft minimal soundscapes, and poetic wonderings of a journey that ends where it began. Drawing from classical, folk, and electronic backgrounds, JFDR amalgamates the sounds of changing seasons, her voice a current that moves through rough seas to smooth waters. Her first full length album, co-produced by legendary multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, was released in March 2017. “I got obsessed with her band Samaris a few years ago,” says Björk, “and then it was amazing to see her do her own stuff. She’s surrounded herself with a really authentic community of friends. There are probably about 150 musicians in Reykjavik, and groups there sort of become the opposite of each other, like, ‘Oh, that singer’s dressed like that, I better dress the opposite.’ Such is the tight-knit scene in Iceland, she continues, that “you naturally develop individuality. Also, you’ll be in a classical band and an electronic band and a metal band, and that’s okay. Everything blurs into each other, which I’m sure you can hear in Icelandic music.” Björk, The Guardian 'Björk On Her Inspirations'

French 79

is a new, purely electronic project by talented musician and producer Simon Henner of Marseille (Kid Francescoli, Martin Mey). More recently, he has been talked about in France due to the success of his new album. A live set at Palác Akropolis is not to be missed

Katarína Máliková

became the most outstanding artist of an alternative Slovak scene and her debut album took over not only world music fans but also a wider public. Katarína and her seven-piece live band bring folklore heritage in its freshest way. The artist managed to come a long way in three years time. She joined a newcomers competition and after that continuously worked on enlargening her fan base. The musician is literally a concentrated energy – although appears to be frenzy, she’s going to overwhelm you with her strong voice the moment she starts singing. Katarína’s album entitled Pustvopol is an archaic name for a region in central Slovakia meaning a desert field. She was inspired by traditional Slovak music but also by the place itself, its nature, atmosphere and its magic – Katarína let all these elements influence her while writing the album. The artist, a music teacher, didn’t know her first album would sound like it does, she’s also written more chanson-ish songs but later applied folk motives to her music.

Plàsi

Characterized by stripped productions based on acoustic guitars and meaningful words, Plàsi is now out with his debut album People. After a gradual release of the individual tracks during 2017/2018 the album is now finally in one piece. In the end of 2016 his debut EP Now & Then got out and soon after two well received official remixes were released that helped spreading the original music. The inspiration comes from related acts within the acoustic folk genre, such as Passenger, José González, Dotan, Sufjan Stevens, and Kings of Convenience

Changing Faces

Hailing from Slovakia, CHANGING FACES is the upcoming name in Drum and Bass! This young producer will take you into the world of deeply rolling bass. Timeless melodies, fresh polished drums and warm bass foundation already caught attention of RAM, UKF’s label Pilot, Hospital, Medschool, Let It Roll crew, and many more. Inspired and supported by biggest producers, Changing Faces is delivering finest quality of Drum and Bass all around Europe. New releases and collaborations with bigger acts on the way.

КУКЛА /SL

A self-proclaimed Slavic gangsta geisha popartist. Singing mostly about weapons and love, КУКЛА is constantly fighting battles within herself and with the outer world. Her pop sound captures the current tender non conforming youth of the West, while still maintaining a special Slavic introspection and fatalism. There's a clear stylistic resemblance to Milosevic era Serbian female singers and a nod to R&B goddesses of the Bush era America. On the stage she lets her guards down, enriches her distinctive sound with dazzling visuals and puts her heart on the plate. Bon apetit! Welcome to the КУКЛА experience

JULIA ADAL (FI)

A singer-songwriter from Finland. Her music has influences of neo soul, acoustic pop and downtempo. Besides her own songs, she covers traditional Finnish tunes. Julia lived three years in Prague, where she wrote most of her songs and performed with a duo called Les Flatmates, formed with a Slovakian singer-violinist Nina Marinová (NINA ROSA).Since 2017 she has been based in Colombia working with local producers. Her first single „Little Bit Love“ was recorded in Medellín by a Colombian producer KillaBeatMakerand released in the summer 2018. In Palác Akropolic her performance is accompanied with a Czech pianist, singer-songwriter Bára Zmeková.

DIVINES /Pl

Divines are Lulu Zubczyńska and Piotr Uaziuk. Their music reaches classic electropop and largely referes both to nu-disco and Scandinavian electronica. It combines influences of artists such as Roisin Murphy, ZHU and old polish stars like Krystyna Prońko. During the period of releasing their three EPs, they supported Crystal Fighters on a Warsaw Music Week, visited Spring Break and Open’er Festival and were awarded in Leszek Live! contest. Their debut album was released at the end of 2016 in Requiem Records label, in 2017 and 2018 Agora music label took care of digital distribution of a trap-like EP “Miasta” and a spring single “Troubled Soul”.
