HOW TO LEAD SUCCESSFULL LABEL

Erased Tapes Records is a London-based contemporary label that is widely recognised for releasing avant-garde music that crosses over various genres and styles. The record company was established by Robert Raths in early 2007 and has become a melting pot for innovative musicians from all around the world.

Its roster of contemporary classical music composers includes Ólafur Arnalds from Iceland, German pianist Nils Frahm, Ukrainian continuous music pioneer Lubomyr Melnyk, electronic producer Rival Consoles, American multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick, UK group The British Expeditionary Force lead by Editors guitarist Justin Lockey, Japanese vibraphonist Masayoshi Fujita, Brooklyn-based trio Dawn of Midi, the collaborative project A Winged Victory For The Sullen by Stars of the Lid-member Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie and Dustin O'Halloran, English film composer Michael Price, singer songwriter Douglas Dare and nordic electronic duo Kiasmos amongst others. The publishing arm Erased Tapes Music, founded in 2011, is also home to Berlin-based producer Ben Lukas Boysen aka Hecq and English composer Greg Haines now residing in Tuscany, Italy.

Now in its eighth year, the label has expanded its head office in London with satellite offices in Berlin, Los Angeles and Montreal. 2015 saw BBC 6 Music radio presenter Mary Anne Hobbs stage an Erased Tapes evening featuring Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory For The Sullen at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the prestigious BBC Prom. It was the fastest selling ticket of the entire season. Shortly after Erased Tapes was awarded Best Small Label 2015 at the AIM Awards.
