Ing. Pavel Koťan

He was born Monday 3rd April 1950 in Liberec. In 1960 he moved with his parents to Žalhostice, where he finished basic school. After graduation at SPŠCH (secondary chemical school) in Lovosice he went to Prague to study VŠCHT (The University of Chemistry and Technology). After graduation and compulsory military service he worked as a project architect (Chemoproject), investment adviser (BAL Hostivař) and office clerk (ÚPV – Industrial Property Office). In 1986 he finished his post-gradual studies at the University of Economics in Prague. In 1990 he started to work for Pragometal and after that he worked as a director of ÚVR in Mníšek pod Brdy. In 1995 he started a company Ekora, s.r.o.; he owned this company till his retirement in 2011. He started to draw in his childhood at LŠÚ in Liberec and Litoměřice. After school he made some extra money with drawing from time to time. In the beginning of the 90th the started with cartoon humour. He draw jokes for Expres, Naruby, NEI humor, KUK, Večerní Praha etc. In 1991 he took part on the exhibition of cartoon humour in Malostranská Beseda. After retirement he started to draw a lot again.
