Although Brötzmann's compositions have sonic roots in hard rock, noise, prog rock, industrial, free-jazz and metal, his raw sound seems to exist outside of genres and conventions – combining elements of avant-garde composition, improvisation and tribal rhythms into an explosive sonic storm.
