info Tantehorse: Light in the Darkness / Miřenka Čechová a Radim Vizváry The main drive of Light in the Darkness was the thought of creating a challenging compositional whole that reflects the richness of pantomime theater in all of its various forms. It is an exceptional, theatrically expressive imagining of high art depictions of death, love, and hell, with a focus on precise bodily expression using current pantomime and dance techniques- props, puppets and masks. The creators were inspired by Dante’s Inferno, themes from Marquis de Sade, and even the spiritual context of Bach’s The Art of Fugue. The poetic nature of the piece changes from surrealism and decadence with parts of Rococo and Mannerism, all the way to scenes evocative of the paintings of Salvador Dali, Giorgia De Chiraca, or the films of Jan Švankmajer, Ingmar Bergman, or Peter Greenaway. This is a unique work of two renowned artists, choreographers, directors, and performers, Miřenka Čechová a Radim Vizváry, who after a ten year break have returned together to the stage.
