info

International Piano Day is a worldwide event celebrating the piano, founded a few years ago by a group of artists and producers led by pianist Nils Frahm. It takes place on the 88th day of the year and this year we will celebrate it together on 29 March in the beautiful Mirror Chapel of Prague's Klementinum. Prague will join to several other world capitals. Among the performers will be the German composer Carlos Cipa, who has already performed in Prague several times. He is currently returning with the work from his new album „Ourselves, as we are“. Other guests will be Irena and Vojtěch Havlovi, who are among the most important personalities of the Czech alternative music scene. They will perform their latest compositions for four-hand piano in Klementinum. The third performer will be Prague musician Petr Mazoch. In his intimate atmospheric compositions, the piano is interspersed with other acoustic instruments (guitar, harmonium, banjo). He is also involved in the musical dramaturgy of „Piano Day – Prague“ and the „Piano Potrvá“ series of chamber concerts at the Potrvá café.
