MIRENKA CECHOVA is an actor, performer, choreographer and director. Co-
founder of Tantehorse, Spitfire Company and The International festival Zero
Point. She earned her Ph.D in Physical Theatre Direction at the Academy
of Performing Arts in Prague where she teaches the Authorial Creative Process.
She has received much important recognition for her work : Grand prix in theater
festival Zdarzenia, Prague Fringe Festival’s award for Outstanding Performance,
Best of Fringe in Amsterdam Fringe festival, nominnation for a Helen Hayes
Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress with the Synetic Theatre Company
(King Lear), Best of 2012 in Contemporary Dance award from the Washington
Post (S/he is Nancy Joe), The Herald Angel Award Fringe Edinburgh Festival 2013
and many others.
