The Akropolis Palace is pulsing with guitars, colours and psychedelia. The supra-genre band Sunnbrella and local musician Karolína Beranová with her band will perform.

Sunnbrella

Multi-national and multi-genre band. The name Sunnbrella connects artists from the Czech Republic, Canada or England. It is led by musician David Žbirka, who has won several Anděl Awards. The debut full-length album Heartworn, headed by the hit Fever Dream, is one of the most interesting (partly) domestic records released last year. Shoegaze melancholy is complemented by a fresh dreampop sound and echoes of 90s rave parties. The Czech audience was convinced of the irresistibility of Sunnbrell's live concerts, for example, at last year's Pop Messe festival in Brno. Now the band is going to Prague, where they will perform for the very first time at the Akropolis Palace.

Karolína Beranová

Fire, tenderness and confidence. Karolína Beranová is a huge talent that many people have not yet discovered. She is one of the young Czech female singer-songwriters with a distinctive sound and style, and she repeatedly draws attention to herself thanks to engaging concerts – for example, as the opening act for the Slovak Tolstoys. The combination of sensitive acoustic songs and psychedelic indiepop anthems was already prominent on last year's EP Please Be Gentle. Now Karolína is working on her debut album with the band. Songs from it will be played at the Prague show in June.

Princezna Víčko

Vi Huyen Tranová is a singer, producer and a performer from Prague. In 2018, she founded the electronic band Viah. Her path to DJing can be seen as somewhat unconventional as she moved from making her own music to DJing – this approach allows her to play with a delicate sense for musicality and rhythm. After all, in her artistic practice, she often turns to walking backwards as a certain form of expression. Her sets are sparkling with electronica, they can be warm and communal, focused on making every inch of the body dance.

The evening will end with an afterparty in collaboration with Akropolis Underground. Vojtěch Tkáč, music publicist and Radio 1 moderator, is behind the dramaturgy of the Pulse series at Akropolis Palace.
