Following their successful nationwide tour in 2024, The Plastic People of the
Universe are back for a handful of special autumn shows. They’ll kick things off
at Palác Akropolis – the very venue where it all restarted in April last
year.
Over the past year, the band has become remarkably tight-knit, and their
setlist has grown to include several songs never before performed live.
A few of those will make their debut at this concert as well!
The current lineup features Josef Janíček (keyboards, vocals – and the
band's longtime musical director), Jan Brabec (drums, vocals), Vladimír
Dědek (trombone), Tomáš Schilla (cello, vocals), and Ivan Bierhanzl (bass
guitar).
This time, special guests Svobodná místa – a project featuring Ivan Acher,
Michal Nejtek, Ivan Manolov, and Ivan Bierhanzl – will pay tribute to the late
Pavel Zajíček, who passed away last year. The evening will also include the
vinyl release of DG 307’s Šepoty a výkřiky (Whispers and Screams) – originally
released on CD in 2003.
A night of powerful music, remembrance, and a celebration of underground
legacy.
