This autumn, the České Budějovice band Oceán celebrates 40 years of its existence, a milestone they have decided to mark with a new compilation entitled “Nothing Closer, Nothing Further”. For the first time, fans will find all the essential hits from the band’s career in one place – from their earliest recordings made at the České Budějovice radio studio to recent singles featuring Jitka Charvátová. The compilation also includes special bonus tracks.

The release of “Nothing Closer, Nothing Further” is accompanied by a series of album launch concerts, which kicked off on November 15 at the Fléda club in Brno. Oceán are not celebrating alone – they are joined by special guests, the legendary Shalom and P.M. Band, the former backing band of Petr Muk.

Fans can look forward to an unforgettable evening full of well-known hits and a cross-section of the careers not only of Oceán, but also of the other performing acts. The highlight of the evening will not only be the christening of the compilation itself, but also the launch of the richly produced publication “Oceán, Shalom, Petr Muk (and Me)” by Karel Deniš, a long-time producer and close friend of the mentioned artists, who will also attend the concerts.

The culmination of the launch events will take place at Prague’s Palác Akropolis, scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026.
