info Visionaries of avant-garde music LAIBACH return to Prague after a year and a half to present an entirely new concert programme. It will consist of a large number of new compositions recorded by this Slovenian icon over the past two years, complemented by several well-known songs from their extensive musical history. Do not miss this unique performance by legends who have been provoking the global music scene for 45 years. Laibach originate from the Slovenian town of Trbovlje and have been attracting attention since 1980 with their provocative aesthetic, combining totalitarian symbolism, industrial sound and conceptual art. Their work often balances on the line between critique and appropriation of authoritarian elements, sparking intense debate about the meaning and interpretation of their artistic output. Musically, Laibach primarily operate within industrial and experimental rock, yet over the years they have explored a wide range of styles – from electronics and orchestral arrangements to avant-garde pop. They have also become famous for their distinctive reinterpretations of well-known works, such as their reworked version of Let It Be by The Beatles or their monumental adaptations of folk and pop songs, shifting the originals into entirely new conceptual contexts. Laibach are also part of the broader artistic collective Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK), whose activities encompass visual art, theatre and conceptual projects addressing themes of identity and national symbolism. Thanks to this interdisciplinary connectivity, their work transcends the boundaries of conventional music production and functions as a multi-layered cultural commentary. The group has thus gained international recognition not only as musicians but also as one of the most prominent representatives of European postmodern art. The event is organised by Obscure Promotion. |
