The trio Frisk blends free jazz improvisation, jazzcore intensity, and a touch of noise with moods ranging from Ugric folk to muezzin-like chants. Recently, they've moved toward partially composed pieces where sonic explosions give way to rhythmic structures, and playfulness intertwines with conceptual sophistication. Their second album Rengeteg (2022, 13 raw) features numerous guests from the Czech experimental scene. As Petr Borkovec wrote, Frisk’s music feels like a wrecked canoe rental—unsettling, chaotic, magnetic—until a fragile song suddenly emerges and shifts your perspective.
