STRES was formed in 2024 in Prague and from its very first recordings comes across as a band born not out of ambition, but out of pressure. The pressure of the city, of everyday life, noise and inner unrest. Their music is not an escape, but rather a map of the environment they move through – hot asphalt, night drifts, the smell of petrol and fragments of voices echoing between the walls of a two-faced city. The album launch of Waiting For Another Script marks the next step in their development.

The sound of STRES exists on the border between dark alternative music, post-punk, noise and experimental electronics. Low frequencies, raw rhythms, dirty energy and brass lines that cut rather than caress form a compact, physical whole – something between engine drones and smoky saxophone leather. This is music that does not impose itself, but surrounds.

The members of STRES come from Prague’s alternative and underground scene and bring experience from a wide range of musical projects across genres – from guitar bands to electronic music and improvisation. This overlap is clearly present in the band’s current form: individual influences are not put on display, but merge into a cohesive sound built more on atmosphere than on form.
