A unique instrumental jazz ecstasy performed on dulcimer, six-string bass and drums.

With its distinctive instrumentation and artistic focus, the trio House of Waters (dulcimer, bass, drums) has released 11 albums, received a Grammy nomination, toured as a support act for the supergroup Snarky Puppy, and featured legendary jazz guitarist Mike Stern on their most recent album.

Originally from Japan and now based in New York, Moto Fukushima is a world-class six-string bassist who has studied jazz improvisation, Western classical music and Latin American traditions. His bandmate Max ZT, who has Czech roots, is a virtuoso of the dulcimer – a portable predecessor of the Hungarian cimbalom. He studied the music of West African griots in Senegal and later became a student of Shivkumar Sharma, who achieved for the Indian santur what Ravi Shankar did for the sitar. Max ZT developed his own technically unparalleled playing technique, earning him the nickname “the Jimi Hendrix of the dulcimer.” The result is fragile yet explosive instrumental music, guiding listeners through intricate paths between quiet passages and moments of musical ecstasy.

The event is organised by Rachot Production.
