info

Mélanie Pain is the iconic voice of the project Nouvelle Vague—a voice whose subtlety, depth and elegance have captivated listeners for 20 years.

At the same time, Mélanie Pain has built a distinctive solo career, blending pop, folk and intimate poetry. Following three critically acclaimed albums known for their delicacy and fragile atmosphere, she now presents her fourth and most personal record to date, How and Why. The album is rooted in raw folk, with acoustic guitar and voice taking centre stage.

The nine songs were recorded live with her longtime collaborators and carry influences of Kings of Convenience, Iron & Wine and Emilíana Torrini. The album features a hypnotic duet with Brian Lopez of Calexico, as well as a sensual cover version of a song by Turkish rock band Duman. This calming, sun-drenched album will be presented live by Mélanie Pain in Prague for the very first time on April 1.

The event is organised by 8pm Promotion in collaboration with Palác Akropolis.
