info On March 7, the 13th edition of the Spectaculare festival will open its program and bring two exceptional names of contemporary electronic music to MeetFactory. Rival Consoles, an icon of the Erased Tapes label, will present a live set of his new album Landscape from Memory, in which euphoria, intimacy, and the restless pulses of modern times blend together. Alongside him, German composer Ben Lukas Boysen (Hecq) will make his Czech premiere, presenting his hypnotic mixture of electronics and classical music. The festival’s opening night will connect two different musical visions of Rival Consoles and Ben Lukas Boysen, showcasing electronic music that is fragile, raw, and inevitably gets under your skin. Ryan Lee West, aka Rival Consoles, belongs among those who breathe both fragility and raw energy into electronic music. His work has been featured in Black Mirror, at major festivals, and in concert halls, always remaining true to his aim of transmitting inner emotions. His ninth album Landscape from Memory was created this year after a period of creative silence, built from fragments and memories, sudden ideas captured on the road, and unusual recording techniques. “The new record feels like one of the most cohesive and best-developed Rival Consoles collections ever,” wrote Tape Op magazine. The album oscillates between euphoric synth waves, experimental rhythms, and intimate guitar parts. “It is a work that captures both joy and weight, introspection and forward movement – a musical travelogue of human memory,” the magazine further noted. German producer and composer Ben Lukas Boysen, also known for his earlier work under the name Hecq, will debut in Prague with his poetics that merge classical instruments, electronic textures, and ambient depth. On the Erased Tapes label, he has released acclaimed albums Gravity, Spells, and Mirage, developing his ability to tell stories without words – only through delicate layers of sound. His performance at MeetFactory promises an immersive experience on the border of meditation and cinematic imagery. Rival Consoles and Ben Lukas Boysen will open the program of the 13th edition of the audiovisual festival Spectaculare, which will take place in various venues across Prague from March 5 to April 10. The full program will be gradually announced at spectaculare.cz. |
