info The music of Talaqpo weaves together thorny compositions, noise-rock tension, hypnotic kinetic layers and restless polyrhythms that subtly set the listener in motion. Their concerts are physical and immediate experiences, fuelled by relentless energy, ritual intensity, deep connection and compelling band interaction. They treat sound as living matter, shaping it into fleeting sonic landscapes as well as dynamically shifting, turbulent masses. The compositions—still only the beginning of a longer collective process—are authored by Lucie Páchová, who imprints her work with experiences of chance sonic encounters from distant places. Inspiration for the latest album draws, among other things, from the songs and languages of Ugandan tribes, the sounds of rainforests and dusty suburbs, as well as sharp local electronic music. Pianist Vojtěch Procházka (Vertigo, Načeva, Mammatus), violinist Milan Jakeš (Prague Quiet Music Collective, Maomah), bassist Luan Gonçalves (Jungle Debris, Tongu) and drummer Jan Chalupa (E Converso, JWQ) form a powerfully pulsating body, whose contours are shaped by the voice of Lucie Páchová.
