info Antares is a new musical project led by vocalist Anežka Matoušková, born from a desire to explore a personal space between jazz, folk tradition and contemporary songwriting. The band brings together five distinctive figures from the Prague jazz scene, grounded in attentive interplay, openness and a natural dialogue between past and present. Anežka Matoušková is one of the most compelling young voices on the Czech scene today. She graduated in jazz vocals from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and is currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Her musical path moves freely between genres—from jazz and folk to contemporary classical music—yet her strongest connection remains with traditional folk songs, which she approaches as living, evolving forms. Alongside Antares, Anežka is active in the duo Avokaduo, developing original folk-jazz songs, and in the nine-piece band Severní nástupiště, reimagining country music for the 21st century. These experiences shape her work in Antares as well, particularly in the use of voice, storytelling and collective interaction. Line-up:
