info The German industrial rock/metal powerhouse KMFDM is coming back to the Czech Republic! Get ready for a night of crushing guitars, heavy beats, and provocative lyrics on March 4th at Palác Akropolis! KMFDM was formed in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko. The name is an abbreviation of the slogan Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid (“No Majority for the Pity”) – often mistakenly translated as “No Pity for the Majority.” Emerging from Hamburg’s underground electronic scene, the band became pioneers of industrial music, fusing gritty electronic soundscapes with metal guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, and provocative, often politically charged lyrics. Event is promoted by Obscure Promotion In the 1990s, especially after relocating to the US, KMFDM broke into the American market. Albums like Angst (1993), Nihil (1995), and Symbols (1997) became cult classics, thanks to their high energy, unique blend of electronics, metal, and industrial dance elements, and their striking visual identity – with iconic album covers by artist A. Tomić, known as Brute!. KMFDM has never shied away from controversy, whether in their music, graphics, or public statements. Still active today with over twenty studio albums, KMFDM’s sound is defined by catchy yet aggressive riffs, driving samples, alternating male and female vocals, and an emphasis on high-energy live shows. With a devoted global fan base, their mix of sarcasm, political commentary, and dance-meets-metal power makes them one of the most distinctive and longest-running bands in industrial history. |
