info Finnish metal legend WALTARI returns to the Czech Republic as part of the tour for their latest album Nations’ Neurosis! The musical chameleons, who have enjoyed immense popularity here for nearly 40 years, will perform on March 20 at Prague’s Palác Akropolis. Don’t miss this truly original show! Waltari formed in 1986 in Helsinki, Finland, building their identity on boldly blending a wide range of genres. From the very beginning, Waltari refused to be confined by the traditional boundaries of metal, incorporating elements of electronic music, techno rhythms, pop, punk and even classical music. This fearless stylistic diversity gradually earned them a reputation as one of Europe’s most original metal projects. Their breakthrough came in the 1990s with the album Torcha! and later Big Bang, where their ability to combine heavy riffs with danceable beats and catchy melodies became unmistakable. Critics praised not only their willingness to experiment but also their ability to maintain a coherent sound despite the extreme stylistic variety. This helped the band gain fans across Europe, including the Czech Republic. Waltari will bring their latest record Nations’ Neurosis to Prague, once again proving that they have never been a band to follow any rules. The album showcases their unique blend of musical freedom, bold experimentation and unfiltered artistic expression. At the core of Waltari’s musical journey stands Kärtsy Hatakka, the band’s mastermind and driving force. Hatakka, responsible for lead and backing vocals, bass, programming, keyboards and percussion, faced a period of personal turmoil while creating the album – he lost his mother and watched the world plunge further into chaos and division. The frustration and emotional tension of this time permeate every note of Nations’ Neurosis, making it one of WALTARI’s most urgent and thought-provoking works to date. The event is organised by Obscure Promotion. |
