On March 16, 2026, the Spectaculare festival will welcome to Prague’s CAMP two iconic figures of German ambient music – Joachim Spieth and Markus Guentner, who will present their influential label Affin. Founded in 2007, the platform is defined by the fusion of sound and visual identity, organic textures and digital aesthetics. For the first time, both the founder of Affin and its visual architect will arrive in Prague to curate an evening devoted to atmospheric landscapes, contemplation and carefully sculpted ambient sound. The music will be accompanied by visuals created specifically for this event, sensitively referencing the ambient world and the visual signature of the Affin label.

Affin is a German music platform established in 2007 by musician Joachim Spieth. It moves between ambient and deep techno, with a central focus on the interplay between sound and visual form. Each Affin release is embedded in a unified graphic identity created by Markus Guentner, merging organic and digital elements. The label focuses mainly on album releases, of which nearly two hundred have already been issued. Artist collaborations and collective compilations form an important part of the catalogue.

At Prague’s CAMP, the work of Affin will be presented by its founder Joachim Spieth. Active for more than two decades, his music is defined by exceptional attention to detail and an ability to draw listeners into immersive, atmospheric compositions. Spieth’s early career is associated with the KOMPAKT label, with tracks featured on the Pop Ambient compilations and in The Orb’s Back to Mine mix. Since establishing Affin in 2007, he has built it into a renowned international platform for ambient music. He has released several acclaimed albums (Irradiance, Terrain, Overlay, Retrace), and his work has been remixed by alva noto, Pole and Abul Mogard. He is also the creator of the Textures series, a sonic library. As a DJ, Spieth has performed in over thirty countries, appearing at festivals such as Up To Date (Białystok), Mostra (Barcelona) and the Ambientalny Festival in Wrocław. He now comes to Prague for the very first time.

Markus Guentner, beyond his graphic work, is a seminal figure of contemporary ambient and neo-classical music. He debuted in the late 1990s on the influential KOMPAKT label, contributing several pieces to its celebrated Pop Ambient series. He has composed film music, co-founded the Sublime collective and the project Stareaway in his hometown of Regensburg, and gradually shifted from early dub-techno experiments toward pure ambient expression. Guentner frequently engages in collaborations – for instance, the album Empire was created together with artists such as Rafael Anton Irisarri, Julia Kent and bvdub.

With this event, Spectaculare offers an ambient ritual that, for one evening, will let Prague sink into delicate layers of sound and light, transforming CAMP into a space of quiet focus and shared experience.

The event is realised in collaboration with the Prague Institute of Planning and Development and the CAMP venue.
